Meet the Author: Elisabeth Elo, a new voice of suspense
Her name may be new to you, but you won't soon forget Elisabeth Elo's writing! Her novel, North of Boston, has had reviewers raving and readers on the edge of their seats since its release earlier this year.
On Wednesday, July 30, at 7:00 p.m. we will welcome Elo to our Meet the Author series. When the book came out this winter, Library Director Hope Coffman enthusiastically recommended it to local readers, noting that Elo's writing was being positively compared with that of Dennis Lehane, Peter Hoeg, and Laura Lippman. Hope was delighted to know that local residents would have the opportunity to meet and visit with Elisabeth this summer.
Opening on the Boston waterfront, the story becomes a page-turning thriller featuring Pirio, a confident woman whose brush with death leads to an adventure that reaches to the Canadian Arctic. To survive she must overcome icy water, a deadly betrayal and the challenge to trust in herself.
The book received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Booklist. It was named by Library Journal as one of “Spring’s Best Debuts” and was selected as one of the best crime novels of 2014 by the editors of Booklist. The Huffington Post and Kirkus Reviews listed “North of Boston” as one of “10 ways to not watch the Superbowl”. Mark your calendar now and don't miss this opportunity!

The next speaker in the author series will be Ellen Cooney discussing The Mountaintop School for Dogs and Other Second Chances, on Wednesday, August 13, at 7:00 p.m.
