ONLINE DAY OF GIVING ESTABLISHED TO SUPPORT THE ROCKPORT PUBLIC LIBRARY – The Friends of the Library volunteer organization would like your help raising funds through the National Library Giving Day campaign. This one-day online fundraising event will occur on April 3, 2024 and encourages patrons and library lovers to make a gift to their individual library. This campaign reminds us that libraries, small and large, serve as a cornerstone for our communities. In addition to well-loved books, many libraries offer innovative programs that promote lifelong learning, connect patrons to technology, and advance knowledge.
Employee and patron, Osha Rose shares, “The library is a very supportive place for not only adults but also families with children. I love attending the Zoom programs and watching free indie films on Kanopy from home, and I enjoy coming in to play with my daughter in the Children’s room – she does her imaginative play in the kitchen while I zen out at the crafts table.”
The Rockport Public Library has hundreds of books, collections of CDs with audiobooks and music, DVDs, and many free online resources like eBooks and audiobooks through Libby, films on Kanopy, and more free stuff to borrow like a telescope through the Library of Things. We also offer free programs for adults, families, and children both in-person and online. Some interesting online Zoom offerings this month include an introduction to Mindfulness, Astrology, and Cooking.
The library and Friends of the Library hope you will help support the April 3rd national Library Giving Day fundraising efforts by joining the FOL membership, or by sending a donation via check or online and help give to the Rockport Public Library.
