Pay Fees, Renewals and Overdues

Many circulating materials can be renewed. If an item is renewable and no one else has it on hold, it will automatically renew twice. You can also renew materials and check due dates in person at the library, by phone at 978-546-6934, or by signing in to our online catalog.

Non-renewable items include museum passes, Library of Things materials, and Lucky Day titles.

Currently, the library is fine-free for overdue materials unless the material is overdue for 49 days or more. After 49 days, the item will be determined to be lost, and the borrower will owe the cost of the item until the item is returned or the amount is paid. Patron borrowing privileges are blocked when fines accrue to $20.00 or when 20 items are overdue, regardless of bill reason.

Fees for lost items can be paid by cash or check at the library’s main desk or children’s desk. If the amount owed is over $5.00, it can also be paid through the online catalog with a credit card.
