Although the library is open to the public, we realize that everyone might not be ready to enter a public building. Our back porch pickup program will continue to make our collection accessible to everyone. You can reserve items through the online catalog, email us at email@example.com, or call us at 978-546-6934. Please use whichever form of communication works best for you!
We will let you know when your items are available, and when you are ready, you can come to the back porch during any of our open hours to pick them up. When you arrive, just the doorbell at our back entrance and we will bring out your items for you to pick up.
How do I place an order?
If you know what you would like, you can log in to the library catalog online and make a request! When your items are available, we will notify you to come to pick them up.
Statewide delivery service (ILL) makes it possible to request materials from other libraries (choose from over five million items in our 36-member network alone)!
Hint: To get items even faster, you can always click the” “Only Show Available” button, which will display items currently checked in at our library and reduce some of the turnaround time in filling your order.

What are your hours for the back porch pickup service?
You may pick up your orders during any of our normal hours.
How you’ll be notified
When your items are ready, you will be notified according to the preference you have set on your account – which is usually either email, phone call, or text. You can pick up your order during any of our open hours after you are notified.
How will pickup work?
When you come to the library, simply ring the doorbell at the back entrance, and a staff member will bring your items out to you. All items will be checked out to you, and the receipt will inform you of the due dates.
A staff member will be near the door to answer questions. At this time, we do not have the staffing capacity to deliver items to cars, but if you need special assistance, please call us at 978-546-6934, and we will try to find a way to accommodate your needs.
To return items without entering the library or while the library is closed, please place them in one of the outdoor return bins (located just outside the front and back doors).
