Community Resource Fair Wed 11/20 @ 5PM: Cannabis Use Effects on Young Brains
The library will host a community resource fair on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20 at 5PM, with a lecture from Dr. Jodi Gillman at 5:30 PM. Dr. Gilman has authored a series of scientific publications on the acute and long-term effects of alcohol and cannabis consumption on the structure and function of the brain, specifically in young adults. Pizza will be provided for attendees. This event is funded by The City of Gloucester Health Department, The Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

Join us for a special musical performance by Singer/Songwriter, Eva James on Saturday, Nov 23rd at 3:30PM in the Brenner Room! We are excited to welcome Eva James to the stage for a special performance in our Brenner room. She will perform for us her raw, earthy, deep original songs that won her the Gloucester 400th songwriters challenge last year. She is now recording her debut album produced by Paula Cole, and traveling the New England to share her music live.

Books By Mail
If you are a Rockport resident and unable (for any reason) to come down to the library in-person, this new service will help you get all of your library needs from your own home. Thanks to a set of new mailable bags funded by the Rockport Rotary Club we can now send bags of library materials to patrons through the mail! And thanks to a handy reversible address card, you can send them back to us when you’re finished with them – all from the comfort of your home!
Games People Play: Board Game Time for Adults
WEDNESDAYS from 2:00—3:45 PM. Join us for GAMES PEOPLE PLAY at the library. On Wednesday afternoons adults get to meet and play games with others.
