Join Us for a patron-led Monthly Cooking Club with a new theme for recipes each month!
Do you love to cook and bake? Want to hang out with others who do? Come join us at the Rockport Library for a new monthly Cookbook Club!
Share your experiences, samples, recipes & hacks with other food lovers and cooking enthusiasts.
For our first meeting we’ll be making bars. Use a recipe from a cookbook of your choice. The library has plenty if you need inspiration! Bring your cookbook, bars to share, and a copy of the recipe to the meeting. We’ll provide coffee, tea and cutlery!
Come to the library and be prepared to eat, share, chat and connect over food.
We’ll be talking about how you chose your cookbook, what you liked or didn’t like about the recipe, your experience making it, and if you modified it at all.
This month’s meeting will be led by Mark Roman: Mark has been passionate about food since a child, as a result of his Italian heritage which has carried through into his life today. Currently, he works remotely as a social worker/therapist for a mental health clinic in Harlem. In the various incarnations of his job, he has supervised a vocational program where he taught cooking skills for food service positions, attended culinary school, entered various cooking competitions and made hot sauce in his spare time. He was discovered by the Rockport library due to his addiction to cookbooks, borrowing several per week. The result? He was asked to be a part of this cookbook club!
We are looking forward to share this time with other food lovers!
