Celebrate Earth Day with us at the Shalin Liu this SATURDAY, APRIL 19th at 11:00 AM here in Rockport! The public libraries of Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Essex welcome bestselling author Sy Montgomery and award-winning illustrator Matt Patterson to the Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport.
Join us for an engaging discussion of their acclaimed book, Of Time and Turtles: Mending the World, Shell by Shattered Shell. The event will feature a 60-minute presentation, followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. Attendees can submit questions in advance through the prompt below.
This free event celebrates Earth Day 2025 and the power of nature to inspire change with storytelling, science, and stunning art. Families are welcome to register for this event, however, it is up to the parents/caregivers to determine if family members will be intrigued by turtles enough to remain seated for the duration of the program.
Event begins at 11:00 AM and check-in starts at 10:30 AM. Registration required and seat selection is first come first serve on our Events page.
