We welcome you to come meet the Director of Movement Arts Gloucester (MAGMA), Sarah Slifer Swift on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 23rd at 10:30AM in the Brenner room and enjoy an introduction to an all-levels online stretch class to help stabilize, stretch, and strengthen at home. This class is excellent for injury prevention, fixing alignment issues, and generally maintaining good working order in the body. Active Strength and Stretch (on a chair) continues on Zoom and since the pandemic has become an indispensable body practice to many since. It is a smart system of acquiring or maintaining body mobility and strength, with cues for proper alignment and ease from the comfort of your home. An incredible warm-up for your day, an essential practice for injury prevention, this class is a must try for everyone!

Sarah Slifer Swift – Director of MAGMA (Movement Arts Gloucester MA), has been on faculty at Boston Conservatory, Boston Ballet School, Boston Conservatory, Salem State University, George Washington University, Amsterdam College of Art/School for New Dance Development, Scotland’s National Center for Dance (Dance Base), and Liza Indiciani Studio of Dance. Through the Gloucester Education Foundation, she created and taught two dance curricula for Gloucester Public Schools. Slifer Swift performed as a dancer with several contemporary dance companies and choreographers in the US and in Europe. Her choreography has been performed in Amsterdam, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and in New England and has received several grants and awards, including a Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellowship for Choreography. She opened MAGMA in 2017.
