Celebrating Cape Ann Reads at the ARSL Conference in Springfield

|

Our Assistant Director, Tom Clark traveled to Springfield recently to attend the Association for Small and Rural Libraries conference (ARSL).  Joined by children’s author, Jean Woodbury, they celebrated Cape Ann Reads; a collaborative project between Rockport Public Library, Sawyer Free Library, Cape Ann Museum, Manchester-by-the-Sea Public Library, and TOHP Burnham Public Library, to offer free picture book-themed workshops for families and adults.  Jean Woodbury was invited to the conference to share her holiday picture book, The Tree in Dock Square.

The ARSL annual conference represents small and rural libraries and does a unique job of spreading out by city to accommodate its members.  In it’s forty-two years running, this was the first time the conference was in Massachusetts.
