Library Card Sign-up Month

|

Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, libraries unite in a national effort to ensure everyone signs-up for a library card.

Throughout the school year, public librarians and library staff will assist parents and caregivers with saving hundreds of dollars on educational resources and services for students. From free access to STEAM programs/activities, educational apps, in-person and virtual homework help, technology assistance to the expertise of librarians, a library card is one of the most cost effective back to school supplies available.

Today’s libraries have programs and resources that go far beyond books. From virtual story times, activities, lectures, and author talks to opportunities to borrow ebooks, eaudiobooks, movies, music and more there’s something for everyone at the library.

Any Rockport resident is able to register for a free library card online. This card will provide you free access to all of our print and electronic resources. If you have any questions or concerns about getting a card or accessing our services please contact the library. If you live in another Massachusetts community please contact your local library to register for a card. Once you have a library card from your local certified Massachusetts library you can use it at any Massachusetts library.
