Randy Hock – Library Trustee
My name is Randy Hock and I am a candidate for the
Rockport Public Library Board Trustee.
I chose to retire in Rockport after having spent over 50 years visiting here and some 30 years after joining the Sandy Bay Yacht Club in anticipation of retirement. My wife and I truly appreciate our community and are pleased that our children and grandchildren believe this to be their spiritual home.
The Rockport Public Library whose origin dates back over 150 years is a community treasure that must be preserved and enhanced. Our Public Library is both a repository of information and a sharing, community space for all ages providing a safe haven from the world. Libraries are about learning and freedom: freedom to read, freedom of ideas, and freedom of communication. In this rapidly changing environment, libraries are more important than ever before and are the gateway to the future.
The Library Board of Trustees together with the dedicated librarian and library staff will be challenged in the years ahead to keep the Library fiscally sound while continuing as a focal point for learning and a gathering place for community sharing.
Thank you for voting for Randy Hock for Library Trustee in May 2025. I am honored by the opportunity to serve the Town of Rockport.
