New Databases!

|

We’re thrilled that the MBLC (Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners) has added several new, exciting databases for library patrons to use. These new databases are available now and accessible all across the state for any library user to access. Here are some of the new features you can access as a library user:

Transparent Languages is a new language-learning database for our patrons to use that offers fully structured courses for over 110 languages. Each language has a full set of units and activities to help you learn to listen, speak, read, and write in your chosen language. It also has a mobile app designed for phones and tablets – so you can learn on the go and track your progress.

PebbleGo is a database for K-2 students and their teachers. It has a selection of articles on animals and biographies, and offers fun activities for students like puzzles, word searches and more. It also offers printouts of classroom activities for teachers to use, and video clips for each section.

Britannica Moderna is a Spanish edition of the popular Encyclopedia Britannica – complete with all the same content found in the English edition.

We also now have access to a new selection of databases offered by Gale. We can now offer specialized Gale databases on Environmental Studies, Legal Forms, Interactive Science, and Leadership and Management – as well as Gale’s guide to Peterson’s Test Prep.

Links to all of these databases are now available on our Online Research and Entertainment page!
