Rockport Public Library Phased Reopening Update

|

The Rockport Public Library is eager to once again open its doors to the public so that people can browse the collections and access library computers. We all miss seeing all our patrons young and old at the library. We have enjoyed seeing so many of you participating in the back porch pickup or home delivery program.

At this time we are awaiting the installation of airflow units that will address the lack of airflow in the building. The lack of airflow in the building has been noted as a critical concern that must be addressed for the safety of the public and staff prior to the public reentering the building. Once that is completed we will seek the required approval from the Board of Health to reopen and will enter the next phase of our reopening plan. The increase in people becoming vaccinated will also support our reopening plans. We expect to have more information available soon,  including a projected reopening date and details on how we will phase in public access.

For those not comfortable reentering the building our back porch pickup program will continue indefinitely. Our amazing staff can provide recommendations for library and materials, answer reference questions or any other questions you may have through email info@rockportlibrary.org or phone 978-546-6934. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our reopening please reach out to library director, Cindy Grove at cgrove@rockportlibrary.org. We look forward to seeing you at the library again soon.
