Maddy Willwerth is ecstatic to be joining the Rockport Public Library and its community as a substitute librarian. Maddy grew up in Sacramento, California, and moved to Vermont for college. She graduated with a focus on multimedia and graphic design. She began working in public libraries five years ago and can’t imagine working in any other field. Maddy moved from Vermont to the North Shore of Massachusetts to be closer to family and have better educational opportunities for her two daughters almost two years ago. She is currently attending Simmons in their Master of Library and Information Sciences program. She loves to garden and grew over 300 heads of garlic and had a small flock of chickens in Vermont. She is excited by sustainable farming practices, sharing stories, creativity, culture, and food, and helping people become more comfortable with technology in their daily lives.
