Summer Reading Fun & Prizes for All Ages!

|

It’s officially summer and a time when many of us allow space for more of the pleasures in life – like taking vacations and making the time to relax with a good book!  You may also be the parent of a child or two (or three…or more!) looking for creative ways to get the kids reading this summer.

The theme this year is READ ~ RENEW ~ REPEAT and we invite you to join in on the fun!  Stop by the library and read on to learn more about the creative reading challenges for all ages here at the Rockport Public Library this summer!

Adult Summer Reading Challenges

Our adult summer reading challenge kicked off this month and goes through August 31st.  We are offering fun prizes to help encourage our community to connect with nature and our collections with challenges like: Read a book published the year you were born and Read a book with the ocean or beach on the cover.  If you’d like to participate or just peruse the list of challenges for ideas to get you reading, stop by the front desk for a packet of raffle tickets and to check out our curated book display, or just download the package HERE.

Summer Reading for Children

We will be using paper trackers and the Beanstack app to track reading and attendance at library programs and events, and giving away books as prizes. Visit the Children’s Room to sign up for paper tracker option or go to the Beanstack Rockport Public Library site.

We are also participating in the Topsfield Fair Read and Win program. The program is open to readers from Grades K to 6th and if readers reach the ultimate goal, they are awarded a Topsfield Fair Prize Package of: 1 Admission Ticket, 1 Hot Dog and Drink Voucher, 2 Ride Tickets, and a “Read and Win” Ribbon.

We hope the prizes just add to the reward of the discoveries within each book.

Happy Summer Reading!
